Dr. Kamal Kalsi, LTC USAR commanded an ER tent in Helmand Province in Afghanistan in 2011. Dr. Kalsi spearheaded a movement within the U.S. Army to effect a rule change allowing men and women in uniform to be able to wear their articles of faith. The U.S. Air Force followed suit. Dr. Kalsi now serves in a national capacity as Commissioner to the President’s Advisory Commissions on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders. Kamal Kalsi is a social justice warrior, doctor, soldier, husband, and father.
